Introductory MATLAB Programming Course Announcement

KNES498C/689R: Special Problems in Kinesiology; Quantitative Methods in Cognitive Motor Behavior

Summer-II, July 11, 2016 – August 19, 2016

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:00-5:30pm @ SPH 0223

During this Summer-II 2016 term a MATLAB programming course will be offered by the Department of Kinesiology, School of Public Health. This is a three credits course (KNES 498C/689R, “Special Problems in Kinesiology; Quantitative Methods in Cognitive Motor Behavior”) and it will take place at University of Maryland, College Park.

The course:

This is an introductory MATLAB course for beginners or persons with little or no background in programming. This course teaches computer programming and basic quantitative techniques for time-series data including various examples from multiple fields (but not limited to) such as cognitive motor neuroscience, biomechanics, bioengineering, psychology, biology, signal processing, etc. MATLAB is a very popular computer programming language and tool for algorithm development, numeric computation, as well as data analysis and visualization. One of the goal of this course is to allow students with little or no background in computer programming to gain a proficiency in programming that will enable them to fully engage in algorithm development as well as data processing and visualization along with an introduction of some basic techniques for time-series analysis.

Information and enrollment:

This is a three credits course. If you are interested, you will have to directly enroll online. For now 10 seats are available but additional seats may be offered based on the demand.
