This is a 3-1/2 month, $604K time and material contract.

Dr. Baras and his team will develop a study on the applicability of TRANSEC to commercial LEO and MEO satellites. They will explore the ability of third-party enhancement to improve security and implement aspects of TRANSEC on 5G, LEO, and MEO satellite signals.

The study will baseline the performance of commercial SATCOM systems (LEO / MEO) and assess the potential impacts of TRANSEC and COMSEC on end-to-end performance. In the prototype and integration phase, the Baras team will provide inputs to integration testing for lab based on shipboard SATCOM. This includes use cases to consider, strategy for testing approach and performance measurements.
