Representative Systems

 

The manufacturability of a design is strongly dependent on the manufacturing processes used to create it. For example, a design that has an ideal shape for casting may not be suitable for machining. Hence, approaches to computer-aided manufacturability analysis are strongly influenced by the type of manufacturing processes they select to address. Below, we describe automated manufacturability analysis systems for several different types of manufacturing domains, including assembly (Section 4.1), machining (Section 4.3), near-net shape manufacturing (Section 4.2), electro-mechanical components (Section 4.4), and other miscellaneous efforts (Section 4.5).
