LSO Neuron Modeling (Interaural Level Difference)
For explanations, please see research pages (coming soon)
Single LSO neuron responds to echoes from the right side beyond a threshold angle
one spike per vocalization (7.4MB with sound)

Delay-Tuned Neurons (Inhibitory Rebound Mechanism)
For explanations, please see research pages (coming soon)
A delay-tuned neuron triggers the blocking motion of a motorized "tail".
          - view from top  (1.4MB, no sound)
          - view from behind sonar (2.0 MB, no sound)
          - view from in front of sonar  (1.8MB, no sound)

Time-warped Ultrasonic Echolocation Sounds:   timewarp_ex_1.wav
Example microphone recording of a short 40kHz sonar ping followed by two prominent echoes (3” diameter tube at 85 cm and a wall of sound-absorbing ceiling material at 136 cm).  Other noticeable echoes are due to clutter in the surrounding area off-axis to the sonar beam.  Perceptually, these echoes are not immediately noticeable.  The recording has been slowed down by a factor of 100.

Audio clips of bat vocalizations recorded from bat detector mixed at about 40KHz
