University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Francesco Bullo is Assistant Professor of General Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He receive the ``Laurea'' degree magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in June, 1994. He completed his Ph.D. in Control and Dynamical Systems from the California Institute of Technology in the summer of 1998. Dr. Bullo is also Research Assistant Professor with the Coordinated Science Laboratory. His current research focuses on geometric nonlinear control of smooth and hybrid Lagrangian systems. Application areas include motion planning for autonomous vehicles in aerospace and underwater environments, analysis and design of locomotion mechanisms with impacts and nonholonomic constraints, and controllability theory for dynamical systems with reduced control authority.
