Sri Namachchivaya
Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Nonlinear Systems Group
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Sri Namachchivaya is Professor of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Director of the Nonlinear Systems Group. He received the Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. He has received both the Xerox Award and the Senior Xerox Award for best faculty research, and the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award. He has received the Visiting Scientist Fellowship from the Fields Institute, and has been a visiting professor at the University of Bremen, and Distiguished Guest Professor at the University of Queensland, the Technical University of Vienna and Florida Atlantic University. Professor Namachchivaya's research interest is the development of methods to analyze the complex interaction between noise, stability and nonlinear dynamics inherence in engineering systems and to suppress or control undesirable vibrations.
