Biography

Daniel J. Stilwell
United States Naval Academy

Daniel J. Stilwell received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, in 1991, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, VA, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree, also in electrical engineering, from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, in 1999. Dr. Stilwell is currently an Assistant Professor in the Systems Engineering Department at the United States Naval Academy where he teaches courses on linear and nonlinear control systems. He is founding manager of the Naval Academy Unmanned Underwater Vehicles Laboratory. His research interests are in guidance and control of underwater vehicles.
