Analytical Studies for Hybrid Control of Base-Isolated Structures   Posters

Researchers
: Robert Sebastianelli, Mark Austin

Synopsis: The purpose of this research project is to better understand the circumstances where active control can usefully supplement passive isolation devices in the vibration control of large-scale buildings and bridges subject to seismic attack. The benefits of active control will assessed from multiple viewpoints: improvements in overall system performannce; energy consumption; power consumption. Our goals are to develop an integrated numerical computations/control environment by connecting the MATLAB control toolbox capabilities to the Aladdin Matrix and Finite Element Environment.

Tools: ALADDIN and MATLAB
