Abstract: Sanjay will explain how his education in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland set him up for a very interesting career that has been intellectually, emotionally, and financially fulfilling.

Bio: Sanjay Varma is a scientist with expertise in optics, electrical engineering and physics. He holds Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and the University of Maryland, College Park, respectively. He has spent most of his career using lasers for fun experiments and useful applications. He's currently working on using lasers to monitor the integrity of large structures, and he has previously worked in biological imaging, structural biology, and experimental plasma physics.
