The CEE Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee presents:
Walking in Beauty On An Ever-Changing Path: A Navajo Woman's Perspective On An Engineering Career
Sandra Begay
Sandia National Laboratories
Navajo traditional philosophy describes living life holistically and in harmony with the world, which can be described as "walking in beauty." After more than 30 years as an engineer, Sandra will present her thoughts on finding a successful career.
Similar to the fall 2021 seminar, our event will have two portions:
- Seminar by Sandra Begay with an introduction by a moderator
- A student Q&A session/workshop
CEEs DEI Committee would like to encourage all instructors to:
- Include the seminar in SP22 syllabi so classes will not overlap with the seminar time and students can attend
If possible, include the seminar and topics in the syllabi for the spring semester. A number of references to Sandra Begay's work (examples: energy systems, structural engineering, professional development, mentoring), can be found at her own Wikipedia page.
Seminar: 12:00 - 1:10 pm
Student Workshop: 1:15 - 1:45 pm
