The Role of Artificial Intelligence in a Virtual World

The recent advancements in Virtual and Augmented Reality allow us to create unprecedented immersive experiences. Concurrently, new developments in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are spearheading changes in how machines interact with people and perceive the world around them. In this presentation we will explore the convergence of these two rapidly evolving technologies. As we explore how Virtual Worlds and Artificial Intelligence are complimentary, and ultimately an essential paring, we will cite examples from current research and chart a path into the future—exploring how AI will transform how we create significant experiences employing immersive technology.

Concepts we’ll touch on include smart AI driven agents compared to current game AI, automated content generation using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), how AI will transform user experience, and how the 3d content creation process can be streamlined.

Munjeet Singh is a Vice President in the firm’s Strategic Innovation Group, leading the firms Immersive Computing practice. In this role, Munjeet leads a team focused on the convergence of Immersive (Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality) Gaming and Cloud Architectures (Cloud Gaming). As these two significant trends begin to converge, Munjeet’s team works closely with our clients to design, develop and implement serious game solutions that transform legacy training, model & simulation and logistical planning applications. These solutions are integrated with distributed system architectures to ensure scalability and low latency experiences. Prior to joining Booz Allen, Munjeet was the Infrastructure Manager at Nextel where he managed the development of the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) model, and systems engineering of over 2,500 mission critical systems core to the wireless telecommunication network.
