Papagianni, Chrysa

Chrysa Papagianni joined the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016 as an Assistant Research Scientist at the Institute for Systems Research with a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland. Chrysa brings new skills and interests to our programs, and can help to bridge research in systems and control with research in communications and software defined networking.

She received her Diploma and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 2003 and 2009 respectively. From 2014, she has been a Research and Teaching Associate with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA.  From 2008 to 2013 she was a teaching fellow at the MSc in Networking and Data Communications delivered by the departments of Electronics Engineering and Automation Engineering at the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences Piraeus, Greece, in collaboration with Kingston University, London, U.K.

Dr Papagianni’s research interests lie primarily in the area of computer networks and distributed systems with emphasis on virtualization, network optimization, management and service provisioning, cloud computing and software defined networks.
