NanoOptics Lab Opens, Offers Seminar and Free Evaluation

The Maryland NanoCenter is excited to announce the opening of our third lab, the NanoOptics Lab.  Under the direction of Dr. Vildana Hodzic, the NanoOptics Lab features state-of-the-art metrology tools designed to characterize and manipulate nanoscale structures and interactions. These tools include:

  • Probe Nano Laboratory NTegra Spectra -- A unique research platform suitable for a wide range of measurements, the NTegra Spectra combines several scanning probe microscopies and confocal microscopy/Raman scattering spectroscopy on a single platform.

  • Shimadzu IR Prestige21 Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer -- The IR Prestge21 is a high-sensitivity, high-reproducibility single beam FTIR spectrometer that can be easily customized into an application-specific measuring system.

  • Horiba iHR320 UV-VIS Imaging Spectrometer -- The iHR320 is a two-entrance and two-exit port, triple-grating imaging spectrometer with two independent light sources. It provides the flexibility to change experiments and optical configurations.

Dr. Hodzic will host a seminar entitled “New research directions in the NanoOptics Lab” in March, which will give an overview of the equipment’s capabilities and of recent research performed there.
