Harper, paper selected for presentation at conference

ISR's Coordinator for Educational Programs Lee Harper has had a paper accepted for presentation at the American Society for Engineering Education's Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, June 20-23. Lee's paper is titled, "The Social Consequences of Design: Requirements and Trade-Offs in Large-Scale Engineering Projects." Lee developed her rubric within the REU co-curriculum to demonstrate the applicability of the systems engineering (SE) paradigm in a societal context. She used two projects, the first centered on water remediation projects in South Florida, the second on the destruction of the World Trade Center.
