Description
Currently, available software tools that assist mold designers in designing and modifying quality molds offer limited functionality in determining the mold geometry. Hence, mold designers must perform these tasks manually. An expert mold designer utilizing the best available software in the market can take anywhere from several hours to several days to create a mold design.
Computer science engineers at the University of Maryland, College Park, have developed one-click mold design software for rapid tooling applications. The software designs the mold for a given object with a single mouse click, greatly simplifying and reducing mold time design.
