Shneiderman's Treemaps impress British media

The Newsmap is a highly interactive website that uses Treemap technology to show the relative amount of coverage of international news stories by category and country.

Professor Ben Shneiderman's (CS/ISR) Treemap software, developed in the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, impressed the British media recently. The London Independent newspaper proclaims, “Nothing beats it for simplicity and the 'wow!' effect when you first use it.”
