Vishkin, Qu, Balkan Share Best Paper Honors at ASAP Conference
A paper co-authored by Professor Uzi Vishkin, ECE Ph.D. student Aydin Balkan, and Associate Professor Gang Qu has been selected to share the Best Paper Award for the IEEE 2006 Conference on Application-specific Systems, Architectures and Processors (ASAP '06). Their paper was titled "A Mesh-of-Trees Interconnection Networks for Single-Chip Parallel Processing.”
The IEEE ASAP conference on application-specific systems is a series of meetings on the design of special-purpose computing systems that began in 1986. Conference themes include Applications, Arithmetic, Communication, Interfaces and Memory, Instruction Set Extensions, Microarchitecture, Compilers and Optimization, and Scheduling and Codesign.
