This is a three-year, $345K sponsored research agreement involving the BlueWalker 3 and Blue Bird constellations. The work involves developing analytical and computational models, building a fundamental feedback control system, and writing initial software for on-orbit Flight Software. In addition, there will be an examination of advanced control techniques, including the capability of sensors and actuators for use on a large-extent spacecraft to control a dynamic structure, then proposing and examining advanced closed-loop control options. It also includes refinement of existing models and usable software as needed to enable improved testing and demonstrate performance. The system will then be extended to more realistic on-orbit environments and scenarios.
