This 1.5 year, $240K project is a subaward to a DARPA-PA-21-04-03 SHADE AIE Opportunity.

The project entails four tasks to build an autonomous agent for the game of Diplomacy. Nau will work on Task 4, “Strategic Probabilistic Prediction and Planning.” He will develop a lookahead prediction algorithm that uses game-theoretic lookahead techniques to generate and evaluate possible courses of action for the game of Diplomacy, and estimates expected utilities of the various actions that a player might perform in the game. He will work with researchers at Northwestern University to integrate these techniques into an agent for playing the game of Diplomacy.
