Nuno Martins joins ISR

Assistant Professor Nuno C. Martins will join ISR with a joint appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering this August. Martins earned his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and also completed a Financial Technology Option degree from MIT's Sloan School of Management. His primary research interests are in control, estimation and information theory.


Martins was an author of the European project, "Leonardo da Vinci" in signal processing. He was also one of five founders of the Evolutionary Systems and Biomedical Engineering Laboratory (LaSEEB), located in the Institute for  Systems and Robotics at Lisbon. While a postdoc at the Laboratory of Information and Decision Systems at MIT, he played a major role in a DARPA project in distributed resource allocation in adversarial environments Most recently, Martins worked on the MURI, "Cooperative Control of Distributed Autonomous Vehicles in Adversarial Environments."
