Peter Dykstra wins bioengineering poster award
Congratulations to ECE Ph.D. student and R. W. Deutsch Graduate Student Fellow Peter Dykstra, whose poster won first place in the bioengineering category at Bioscience Day 2010 on Tuesday. Dykstra is advised by ISR Director Reza Ghodssi (ECE/ISR) and works in the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Laboratory.
Dykstra's poster illustrated his research in "An electrochemical DNA sensor for concentration detection of the small molecule cyclic adenosine monophosphate." This research is supported by the R. W. Deutsch Foundation and an NSF EFRI grant for biofunctionalized devices.
Dykstra also gave an oral presentation at the IEEE Sensors 2010 conference this month, and also submitted a provisional patent to the university's Office of Technology Commercialization.
