Alumna Aisha Al-Obaid to join Kuwait University faculty

Alumna Aisha Al-Obaid (Ph.D. ChBE 2019) will join the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering faculty of Kuwait University in the fall. At Maryland, Al-Obaid was advised by Professor Raymond Adomaitis (ChBE/ISR), working in his Thinfilm Research Group.

Her Ph.D. thesis was titled, "Modeling and optimization of a photovoltaic-electrolysis system for hydrogen generation." The work takes both experimental and computational approaches to converting solar energy to storable hydrogen and oxygen using thin-film solar-active materials.
