Derek Paley's e-scooter work featured in Washington Post

The Washington Post has published a story about Maryland Robotics Center Director and Professor Derek Paley (AE/ISR) and his idea to build control and autonomy into electronic scooters. He and his students are working on technology that would allow scooters to reposition themselves so they would be ready and waiting in useful places for customers. Another possibility is to give the scooters the ability to be hailed with a phone app, similar to how people arrange for a ride-share car today. Imagine an unoccupied scooter arriving on the sidewalk outside your door, just when you need it.
