Lovell to teach 'Engineering in the Developing World'
Beginning in Spring 2010, Associate Professor David Lovell (CEE/ISR) will teach a special course as part of the University of Maryland's new general education program for undergraduates.
Through these courses non-engineering majors can explore questions and obtain a better understanding of the role of engineers and technology in improving the world.
Lovell, who has experience leading engineering projects overseas, will teach "Engineering in the Developing World."
Other class offerings in the new curriculum include "Engineering Issues in Medicine" and "Managing Natural Disasters: Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Tsunamis, & Fires."
