Nikhil Chopra promoted to full professor
Congratulations to ISR-affiliated faculty member Nikhil Chopra (ME), who has been promoted to full Professor as of Aug. 23, 2020. Chopra has been associated with ISR since 2007.
Chopra is a well-respected researcher and educator whose research interests are in developing a fundamental understanding of control of networked autonomous systems. His work is motivated by applications in networked control of robotic systems and mixed human-robot teams. Chopra's creative contributions have had a significant impact on control theory and robotics and advanced the future careers of many undergraduate and graduate students. Many of his doctoral graduates have been placed in academia.
His record of scholarship includes the well-received Springer book, Passivity-based Control and Estimation in Networked Robotics, as well as papers in IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Control System Technology, and IEEE Transactions on Robotics. Dr. Chopra has served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and serves as the Associate Editor of Automatica and IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems.
