Three ISR students are named ECE Distinguished Dissertation Fellows

Three ISR graduate students are among the five who have been selected as Distinguished Dissertation Fellows by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the 2009-10 academic year. The fellowships are awarded to outstanding students in the final stages of dissertation work in recognition of their research excellence. This year, each fellow will receive $5,000. The winners will be scheduled to present as a part of the ECE Graduate Student Association seminar series.

The ISR students are Mustafa Ilker Beyaz, advised by ISR Director Reza Ghodssi (ECE/ISR); Vikramjit Mitra, advised by Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (ECE/ISR); and Avinash Laxmisha Varna, advised by ISR-affiliated Associate Professor Min Wu (ECE/UMIACS). Konrad Hsu Aschenbach, advised by Romel D. Gomez; and Athanasios Nicholas Chryssis, advised by Mario Dagenais; round out the group of Fellows.
